CANDLE CARE!

We spend a lot of time creating these candles and want you to enjoy them for as long as possible. To get the most out of your Wolf +Wick candle, please read and follow the instructions below.

FIRST BURN : The first burn of your candle is the most important! Burn your candle until the wax has melted to the very edges, this can take 1-3hrs depending on where you burn the candle and the heat of the room your burning it in. The first burn sets the memory of your candle for future burns and will prevent your candle from tunneling, yes candles have a memory, bizarre we know!

TRIM YOUR WICK : All candle wicks need to be trimmed before every burn. Wood wicks are different to regular wicks as the build up charred wood on each burn, this charred wood will not relight properly if not removed. Before you burn your candle you will need to remove this charred wood, you can do this easily by simply pushing the wick with your finger, the charred wood will crack straight off. If you haven’t burn the candle for long it may be slightly harder as there won’t be as much charred wood, we find that a nail clippers is the easiest tool to trim the wood wicks. Be sure to remove any trimmings/debris from the top of the candle before lighting it, as this can effect the burn of your candle.

KEEP IT COVERED : while your not using your candle make sure to keep the lid on the jar, this will prevent any dust from settling in your candle.

NO SUNBATHING : Keep your candle out of direct sunlight. Heat and light can affect your candle so make sure to store it in a cool place out of direct light.

LAST BURN : for safety you should stop burning your candle when there is ½ inch of wax remaining at the bottom of the jar. This is to ensure that the jar will not overheat which can lead to the jar cracking. I know you will be tempted to keep burning to not waste any wax. But don’t worry once your candle has cooled you can scoop the remaining wax out and use it as a melt, alternatively you can purchase another Wolf + Wick candle and have many more hours of burn time.

SAFETY :
  • Only burn a candle for a maximum of 4hrs at a time.
  • Never pick up/move a candle while it is burning, the jar may be hot.
  • Never burn a candle where there is a draught
  • Never burn a candle near flammable items (curtains, clothing, sofas etc.)
  • If you are burning multiple candles make sure there is at least 10cm between each candle.
  • Keep away from children and pets.
  • Burn on a stable, heat resistant surface
  • Never leave a candle unattended
